My Educational Vision Statement
When considering my role as a teacher, I realize the serious responsibilities I have in my
position. My duties as a teacher are broad, and there are many challenges that come with the job.
I am in charge of a community of learners, there is a great body of knowledge that I need to
instill in them. As part of my preparation to become a teacher, I have enrolled in APUs Digital
Teaching and Learning Masters Program. From this experience, I hope to gain the necessary
skills to effectively incorporate technology in the classroom. This includes having an ease of
access to the digital educational tools, having a broad knowledge of the resources I have for my
classroom, and staying current with the technological advances regarding classroom instruction.
As an effective classroom teacher, I plan to provide students with relevant activities that
will help to prepare them for the skills they will need in the future. I plan to provide students
access to a classroom website that will have homework assignments, a classroom calendar,
classroom content, and a list of helpful resources. This will also provide students with a clearer
sense of classroom expectations, allow students to deliver assignments electronically, and help to
eliminate issues with assignment deadlines.
As an educator, my goal is to find ways to reach students and instill a love of learning in
each child. This will greatly impact their level of growth as students and as responsible members
of the community. The future of each student is dependent upon his or her ability to effectively
use technology. As a future teacher, I anticipate encountering obstacles: a lack of resources,
limited access to technology, and a wide range of abilities regarding the technological savvy of
students. While I realize that there will be barriers that I must overcome, I need to be flexible as
I find creative solutions to meet the needs of each student.
