Anthropometry\
The scientific study of the measurements and proportions of the
human body.
As a result of its ephemeral nature, and the general lack
of space, the owner has to find her own way of creating
an efficient environment for her to run her kiosks,
taking into the consideration the functions of cooking,

about 1-1.5 walking step spaces from the central push
cart, one to its west, and the other to its east. In fact all
movement is limited mainly to the U-shape route around
her kiosk allowing her to keep an eye on her customers
to collect her money when the are done.
The use of only two long tables with benches allows
her to reach different groups of her customers easily
by stretching over the table to pass them their food.

Site Of Study:
The Interjunction between Jalan Pahjaksan and Malioboro
Across the road from the Bakso kiosk, there are 4
other stalls selling food and drinks, a congregation of
shops occurs in this area, creating its own unique
identity along the street of Malioboro, where a
community of warung's work together to provide a
long term stream of customers old and young, who
return continually for the variety offered in the area.Emel e

Observation 1:
In fact that section along Malioboro road is where most of the more
formal ephemeral food kiosks set up shop, The Bakso kiosk is
located near the denser half of malioboro’s street where pedestrian

non-motorised forms of transport. The food kiosk with proper areas
for rest therefore has to be sequestered in that junction as a result
of the high volume of traffic so as to provide a safe and efficient
environment for work. Across the road, one will start to notice
Lesehan’s located along the arcaded 5 footway on the shophouses
on the left side of the road. That is possible due to the less crowded

Observation 2:
Malioboro street at section of study is congested with kiosks on the
inner and outer parts of the arcaded 5 foot ways, this makes each
block of shophouses function almost as if there is only one route of
entry and exit which are found at both ends of the block. To enter in
between different units of shophouses requires one to in fringe on
semi-private space of the kiosks lined up along the street. This stretch
of the walk-way is so congested that most people simply walks through
the central aisle that has been cleared for pedestrians to use.rt ald
