Mr. Erlandson does not thoroughly review the material that will appear on the test during the view. It would be helpful if
the information reviewed in the review wasrestricted to material on the test.

Jan 7, 2013 11:13 AM

Tru

Jan 7, 2013 11:12 AM

Great!

Jan 7, 2013 11:12 AM

I think that Mr. Erlandson needs a more structured procedure for classtime so that we can have the most productive
amount of time possible to go over the large amount of information we have to learn in such short time

Jan 7, 2013 11:12 AM

Every time I have tried to meet with Mr. Erlandson outside of class, he has been available for help. He uses time
effectively and is well prepared, but he takes a while to hand back tests and labs.

Jan 7, 2013 11:12 AM

I feel, going into the labs, that students do not understand what they should be looking forward, and when we discuss
what to write in the lab, we discover that we did not explore the things we should have explored for the lab.

Jan 7, 2013 11:10 AM

It's all good.

Jan 7, 2013 11:08 AM

The structure of the course is very relaxed in the periods spend on content and labs as well. The focus is really on
addressing and stressing what the students feel we need and Mr. Erlandson is always willing to adapt the schedule if
needed and listen to our concerns. The only drawback is lab grading. Our last test we got the day after it was taken but
most labs are not handed back within a cycle. One recent lab was handed in right after Thanksgiving, the last week of
November, and was returned on 1-7-2013.

Jan 7, 2013 11:08 AM

Tests often cover a lot of material that hasn't been covered in class

Jan 7, 2013 11:07 AM

10

It would be nice if he could return assessments more quickly but it is understandable considering the number of students
he has and the quality of comments he gives on our work.

Jan 7, 2013 11:07 AM

11

The teacher and the course are both clearly organized, and the study guides are a key part of the organization.

Jan 7, 2013 11:07 AM

12

Love this man

Jan 7, 2013 11:06 AM

13

I would like the expectations of the class to be a little more outlined. I am a little unclear on exact requirements for labs
and when reviewing for tests

Jan 7, 2013 11:06 AM

14

I feel like I never really know what is going to be on the test until I am handed a review sheet the day before the test, and
even then the information comes from the book and allegedly class discussions, although on numerous occasions there

Jan 7, 2013 11:06 AM

has been information on the review sheet that we did not cover in class.
15

It takes an excessively long time to get labs back, sometimes months.

Jan 7, 2013 11:05 AM

16

Mr. Erlandson is very organized, however doesn't return anything within a cycle

Jan 7, 2013 11:05 AM

17

Organized, familiar with material, should be more helpful during labs and help us more!! Seriously!

I'm obsessed with him. He made me so interested in enviro. I think i want to major in it in college.

Jan 7, 2013 11:15 AM

Mr. Erlandson treats his students fairly and is nice and friendly. He is a very approachable teacher.

Jan 7, 2013 11:14 AM

Mr. Erlandson always interacts with his students.

Jan 7, 2013 11:14 AM

I think that his humor is fine. I think he can share grades a little bit too much, even though he only shares them when
they're good.

Jan 7, 2013 11:13 AM

Lol

Jan 7, 2013 11:12 AM

Mr. Erlandson respects his students.

Jan 7, 2013 11:11 AM

Mr. Erlandson is fair to all students regardless of their background and respects us all.

Jan 7, 2013 11:10 AM

It's all good.

Jan 7, 2013 11:09 AM

He is extremely understanding of unexpected situations.

Jan 7, 2013 11:09 AM

10

No complaints

Jan 7, 2013 11:08 AM

11

It seems that Mr. Erlandson mostly calls on a few specific students regularly.

Jan 7, 2013 11:08 AM

12

Some of the multiple choice questions seemed questionable, in that they did not have one clear answer, which costed me
some points on tests.

Jan 7, 2013 11:08 AM

13

Goood

Jan 7, 2013 11:07 AM

14

He sometimes says one thing and then says something that contradicts it or contradicts something from the textbook and
refuses to ever admit he is wrong, doesn't know, or that there is another interpretation.

Jan 7, 2013 11:07 AM

15

I know that Mr. Erlandson has a lot of students, so we are not exactly close, but I still feel that I am treated fairly in class.

Jan 7, 2013 11:07 AM

16

Mr. Erlandson is very friendly and funny. He is nice to everyone.

Jan 7, 2013 11:06 AM

17

Definitely lets us think for ourselves but probably too often please answer our questions don't just say "I'm not going to
answer that question" as if it is obvious, it is usually not obvious to the person asking the question....

Page 4, Q2. Please use the space below to make additional comments on the expertise of the teacher.

Mr. Erlandson is definitely an expert in Environmental Science and manages a great class. Yet the grading at times can
be difficult. The quality of comments on our lab reports is inconsistent and at times is incredibly brief considering the time
it takes for them to be returned.

Jan 7, 2013 11:17 AM

He is a fair grader, gives good feedback, and teaches well. His tests are pretty difficult though because he asks very
specific questions that we did not go over a lot

Jan 7, 2013 11:16 AM

Very enthusiastic

Jan 7, 2013 11:15 AM

Uses good visual aid.

Jan 7, 2013 11:15 AM

Class is basically a lecture. There is not much time where we have an open environment and can ask questions.

Jan 7, 2013 11:14 AM

Tru

Jan 7, 2013 11:13 AM

Sometimes instructions or information is given in class that is later contradicted in a way that impacts grading (ex. saying
graphing is optional on a lab and then taking off points for not having graphs).

Jan 7, 2013 11:13 AM

An expert

Jan 7, 2013 11:12 AM

It seems that sometimes the tests are purposefully tricky rather than testing our command for the topics.

Jan 7, 2013 11:10 AM

10

The teacher has abundant expertise in the subject, which helps clear up anything seemingly abstract in the course.

Jan 7, 2013 11:10 AM

11

He knows his stuff

Jan 7, 2013 11:09 AM

12

Seems to really love the topics that he is teaching

Jan 7, 2013 11:09 AM

13

Mr. Erlandson seems to be very knowledgeable regarding the material being learned. He uses personal examples and
life stories to further explain the relevance of what we are learning.

Jan 7, 2013 11:09 AM

14

He definitely has a good knowledge of the subject matter, but sometimes his tests seem a bit random.

Jan 7, 2013 11:09 AM

15

The tests are really, really long. He is sometimes unfair in his grading and won't change things after he's graded them

Jan 7, 2013 11:08 AM

16

Mr. Erlandson's past experiences make class more interesting

Jan 7, 2013 11:06 AM

17

Needs to improve on clarifying things for some students.

Jan 7, 2013 11:06 AM

16 of 17

Page 5, Q4. Include any additional comments.

With some adjustments in his grading quality and timeliness, Mr. Erlandson could be an even better teacher than he
already is.

Jan 7, 2013 11:18 AM

The reading takes a while and is really dense.

Jan 7, 2013 11:17 AM

I think that we should gradually go through the chapters instead of having no homework for a while and then all of a
sudden having to read a whole chapter in one night so there aren't any gaps in our understanding. There is poor
feedback on labs because he is not descriptive enough about what he wants. I think that tests should only be on one
chapter at a time and that the study guides don't always include everything thrown at us on the tests.

Jan 7, 2013 11:16 AM

hope i get an A! lols

Jan 7, 2013 11:13 AM

Occasionally there will be instructions or information given in class that is then

Jan 7, 2013 11:13 AM

It definitely takes a lot of work to do well in this class but I think that's how it should be.

Jan 7, 2013 11:11 AM

I would like there to be a more outlined review for our tests in class. While the outline sheets are very helpful it would be
very beneficial to review the material on that sheet in a review period.

Jan 7, 2013 11:11 AM

The textbook reading is really dense and he gives a lot for one night. The book is jam packed with information and it is
very difficult to spend 2 hours reading the information and the book is kind of boring and i don't want to read it for 2 hours.
Maybe we need a new book? Or maybe just shorter assignments?

Jan 7, 2013 11:11 AM

Please don't be so sassy when someone is confused, it is difficult to approach you for labs and questions about material
because you can be flippant at times.
