A large percentage of society has a preconceived view

of homosexuality, believing that being homosexual is a
choice one makes. Macklemore points out the most
flawed notion of homosexuality : The belief that homosexuality can be cured. The song explains that homosexuality cannot be fixed. There is no treatment
to cure someone from being a homosexual because
it is not a disease. Dr. Michael Bailey, of Northwestern University, points out that sexual orientation has
nothing to do with choice. Our findings suggest there
may be genes at play we found evidence for two sets that
affect whether a man is gay or straight(Knapton 1). This
shows that being homosexual is not a choice, but rather a part
of someone's biological makeup.

Society breeds a culture around hate when it comes to homosexuality. Bullying remains in the everyday lives of people who
declare a different sexual orientation other than heterosexuality.
Society cant change everyone, especially when its really part of
their life. When one pressures another to change and they know
they cant, theyre showing hate, unacceptance, and giving them
hopeless-ness to the point of losing the value of life.
God has unconditional love for each and every person. Many
anti-homosexuality people in society believe that they can speak
for God and discriminate against homosexuals. If God loves
all of his children and is a forgiving God, then society should
follow his path. Loving each person for who they are, rather
than discriminating against a certain group because they dont
agree with their choices. People are people.

Society has often looked down upon homosexuality. The

LGBT community was being shunned from the American society based on the stereotypes that were formed early on. The
world shaped a stereotypical view of homosexuality based on
certain characteristics that they associated with being homosexual. Jenny Graves, a professor of genetics at La Trobe University, explains how society views homosexuality in a negative way
because of the stigmatism that surrounds the concept of homosexuality being a genetic part of a person. Graves interviewed an American geneticist, Dean Hamer, who comments
during a study about homosexuality that he was challenged at
every turn by people unwilling to accept that homosexuality is
