Garden City Residents Councilmembers met in October with


the Texas Tenants Union director Sandy Rollins. The topic &
information obtained from the meeting included the right to
organize, tenants rights, and HUD guidelines. Garden City
Residents may request copies of minutes and handouts from

organizing is in this newsletter. We can not stress the
importance of reading your lease. Garden City Website is coming soon. Residents with events,
accomplishments, as well as residents in need may email the council to have information placed in the
newsletter or on the new website. Early December, the Garden City Resident Council will meet with
Sandy Rollins of the Texas Tenants Union and Senator John Whitmire representatives to promote tenants
rights and fair treatment of residents. Please email: If I could just ask one question to
gardencityrescouncil@gmail.com we will ask as many questions as we can in the meeting. Garden City
Resident Council has requested the assistance of state, federal, and local representatives to solve the issues
effecting the rights of tenants in Garden City. October request to use the Community Center was denied
(by a non response). Garden City Resident Council December to January calendar is in the making; the

restore all program to children and families.

health, job training, afterschool, childcare,
transportation, legal, financial & health

literacy. This is a fight for freedom to live in


peace where you live. We are asking for state
& federal laws to apply to all; tenant & owner
