GORGEOUS GOBRECHT DOLLARS Gobrecht dollars are among the most highly prized and recognized of all American coins. The Simpson Collection of Gobrecht Dollars, like all collections to which he turns his attention, is one of the most complete groupings ever assembled and the overall quality is unsurpassed. Of the eleven coins required for this set, Mr. Simpson has all except the unique Judd-61. All of the coins are Top Pops except ‘one, and three are unique Top Pops. Many of the coins are exceedingly rare and, in some cases, the surviving population consists of as few as two collectible examples. However, this set is just the tip of the iceberg. Where many collectors are happy to possess even a single Gobrecht dollar, Mr. Simpson has twenty-three, including the aforementioned ten silver issues, additional off-metal strikes, duplicates, and even a Judd-84 struck over an 1859 silver dollar.
