Research question: what does it take to become An Air Force fighter pilot and how much do they get
paid?
Working thesis statement: you have to take test and class that will get you in as an officer and then you
will try out to become a pilot you got to have high test scores and a 20/20 vision uncorrected. Also your
salary will move up when your rank becomes higher.
Refined thesis statement: In order to become a pilot in the Air Force you must take test and score really
high and pass all the test that will be given. In order to become a pilot you have to be fit and be able to
see with at least a 20/20 vision. The salary will move up when your rank does and also if you are in
danger your pay will increase.

From this site it showed the facts on becoming an air force pilot and what it takes. The
U.S. Air Force does not require pilots to have specific majors. However, degrees in aviation
allow students to complete flight training and courses in aerodynamics, aviation laws, and
aviation meteorology and aircraft systems. Students who enroll in Air Force Reserve Officer
Training Corps AFROTC in college or attend the United States Air Force Academy USAFA
can become officers after graduating. Now there is a lot to learn In the AFROTC, students
complete field training and take extra classes in aerospace, leadership, Air Force organizations,
military laws and military customs. Students who attend the USAFA can take airmanship
courses that allow them to practice free fall parachuting and possibly make solo flights. Thats
what this source has shown about what you would have to take to become an air force pilot. The

reason I choose this source is because gave good information about the US Air Force and how
to become a pilot in the Air Force. It showed what test you got to take and how you can do
better on your test.

In all branches of the military, troops are paid according to their rank and their time in
the Air Force, not by the specialty for which they are trained, so an Air Force pilots salary
depends largely upon his rank. All Air Force pilots are officers and earn more than most
enlisted ground-support staff or flight crews and more than some warrant officers. The
specifics of a pilots pay are determined also by where he is stationed, where he flies and
whether or not he has dependents. Now there is a lot of jobs in the Air Force but not all of them
involve danger but the ones who do get extra money. Pilots who put themselves in the line of
enemy fire or are stationed in an area in which they are targets for terrorists or local uprisings
are entitled to additional, imminent-danger pay. Imminent-danger pay is dispensed as monthly
payments of $225 to troops regardless of their salaries depending upon where theyre stationed.
Pilots who are routinely assigned to fly over dangerous areas but who are stationed in safer
locales may also qualify for imminent-danger pay. The reason I picked this source is because it
gave me all the information on the salary of a US Air Force pilot. It showed how the rank and if
the pilots that were in danger change the pay.
