Formative Assessment 1 Lesson 1

Formative Assessment 1 Rubric:

Formative Assessment 1 will be based on a Full (2) / Partial (1) / No Credit System:
(2) In order for students to receive full credit they must:
- Properly identify and label all trigonometric ratios
- Evaluate the correct sin, cos and tan for the given angles.
- Simplify / Round each answer correctly.
(1) In order for students to receive partial credit they must:

- Properly identify and label all trigonometric ratios

- Evaluate the correct sin, cos and tan for the given angles.
- But they do not simply or round answers correctly.
(0) Students will receive no credit if they fail to identify, label, and evaluate the trigonometric
ratios.

Formative Assessment 2 Rubric:

Formative Assessment 2 will be based on a Full (2) / Partial (1) / No Credit System:
(2) In order for students to receive full credit they must:
- Identify which ratio they used.
- Correctly solve for the missing side
- Test the other trigonometric ratio to confirm that they received the same answer.
- Round and simplify the solution correctly.
(1) In order for students to receive partial credit they must:
-Identify which ratio they used.
- Attempt to solve for the missing side.
- Round and simplify the solution correctly.
(0) Students will receive no credit if they do not identify what ratio they use, fail to check using
the other ratio, and do not receive a final answer.

Summative Assessment:
You are an employee of the local town construction company. You are currently in the process
of rebuilding the park. Currently, you are looking to rebuild the basketball courts that are at the
center of the park. Your task is to create a various basketball courts that are friendly for people of
all ages, while also giving enough room between each court. You are tasked with drawing a
blueprint to present to your boss, the head of local construction, showing the various basketball
hoops of all sizes for all kids to play on. One thing to note is that the ground has been paved so
that the angle of elevation will always be 35 degrees. In order to successfully complete this task,
you must include at least one basketball hoop of 6 feet, 8 feet and 10 feet. Draw out the blueprint
of the basketball courts showing how far center court is to each basket. Remember, in order to
impress the boss you want to use more than one way of finding the lengths, be sure to include all
three trigonometric ratios (sin, cos, tan) in your blueprints. Good luck!
