1. CPR(cardiopulmonary resuscitation)
Emergency procedure done when heart or breathing has stopped working for
example: drowning, heart attack.
When someone drowns and they stop breathing CPR is performed.
2. ADL(activities of daily living)
Things we do on a regurlar basis such as cleaning, cooking, etc.
Some people like to write down their daily activities to stay on track on a regular basis.
3. BP(blood pressure)

Everyone time I go to the doctor they always check my blood pressure to make sure its not high.
4. ICU( intensive care unit)
Area where patients in hospital or health care facilities are taken to receive more
intensive treatment.
When babies are born premature they are put an ICU room, so they wont catch any infections
going around.

5. Anuric(not producing urine)
Lack of urine formation, can detect if you have kidney problems.
When patients are not producing urine doctors and nurses write down on their chart as anuric.

6. BSO( bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy)
Surgical procedure done in women to remove one or both ovaries.
When women have their both ovaries removed they will no longer be able to have children.

7. SBS(shaken baby syndrome)
Injuries done to young children by shaking their head violently causing internal
bleeding.
When a baby has been exposed to SBS no external signs are shown.

8. AC(before meals)
Terminology used in doctors prescription, when having prescription in hand will
show up on the bottle.
My prescription bottle says to take one a day before meals.

9. CL(cleft lip)
Opening on the middle upper or lower lip.
Some babies are born with a cleft lip, surgery is performed to close up the gap.

10. CXR(chest x-ray)
X-ray done on your chest to make sure your heart, lungs are normal.
When I was little I had to have a chest x-ray done due to pain in my chest.
