Course Objectives:

This course aims at preparing students to understand the foundations


and practical management issues of Global Firms. This course will
cover the strategy of international business, organization structure of
global firms, entry strategies and strategic alliances, global operations
in general and global export-import management and counter-trade,
global manufacturing and materials management, global human
resource management, accounting in global business and financial
management in global business in particular. Students will also learn
the reasons why studying the global firm is important for success in
international business and for finding or enhancing personal career
opportunities.

Participation Early and regular attendance for classes is essential.


Try not to miss any of them. Only exceptional
circumstances, which are documented, are
acceptable for missing an examination. Missing an
exam without an acceptable reason students will get
no credit for that test. Group case is aimed at
preparing students for teamwork and group
activities. The other group members should report no
participation of any member in writing.

Grading
30 Percent-Midterm examination
20 Group Projects
35 Percent-Final Examination
10 Percent-Attendance,
5 Percent-class cases and participation in class
debates.
