cant listen to music. However, once I have a solid topic, music suddenly becomes the driving force behind my work. For example, I listen to soothing music that has a strong bass-line, and this music helps me push a flow through writing. The music I listen to while studying or writing is not exclusive to that because I listen to that same genre of music while driving late at night or walking to class. 4.) Working with a partner has its ups and downs. At times, productivity is high while we are in the zone, but at other times, it can be more of a burden. If I were to write a paper from scratch, I would prefer to work alone to focus on a singular idea in order to formulate a paper. On the flipside, having a partner at the early stages of writing would only serve as a distraction for the main idea of my writing. Once a copy of my ideas is created, group work soon becomes advantageous. My partner can help improve or convey my message in the writing. Amy Tan I do agree with Amy that everyone has a muse. However, I cannot relate to directly since I havent traveled the world like her. I have been exposed to some of the foreign traditions that she has. When I visit my parents rural village in Lebanon, I throw out my western way of thinking and integrate with the people. By dropping prior beliefs, I can become fully immersed with the village, its people, and its culture. Amy also states that everyone has an inspiration for what they do in life. My inspiration would be the mechanical world around me.
