b.) This is a website perfect for spelling at an early age. It gives children a chance
to learn in such a fun way. Educational apps such as putting things in alphabetical
order or a word search creator. This will engage in 1 st and 2nd graders language arts
and their ability to process words.
b.) Sheppard software grammar is an awesome way for kids to learn simple nouns
and verbs. This website introduces the idea of parts of speech in a more fun and
advanced way. Kids are able to learn what a verb, or noun is and then get the
chance to play a guessing game of their own. This would assess 1 st and 2nd graders
for higher grade level writing.
3. Name: Softschools
b.) Although most people would find this to be too much of an early age (1 st and
2nd) to learn a keyboard, with the rapid pace of technology it might be the perfect
time. Most of these kids are already using iPads and kindles, I would take the time
to help them learn the keys, not so much as typing at a fast pace but just learning
where each key is located.
b.) The tumble book library is something new that is coming up in the classrooms.
They take simple children’s books and introduce them in a new way by adding
sounds, animations, music, and narration. Thus transforming it into something
called an electronic book. This would be a good tool to use with 1 st and 2nd graders
to keep them interested in the lesson.
b.) This website is designed for cursive writing worksheets. I remember starting to
learn cursive in first grade and the only thing I was given was a sheet with lines on
it and a stencil. With these worksheets it’s more than that. Kids in grade levels 1 st
and 2nd can actually learn cursive an easier way.
b.) Now this website I would use more for my 1st graders. After kindergarten they
tend to have a hard time writing or putting a sentence together. This website sets
kids up by giving them 3 or 4 words to choose from and letting them pick the
sequence the words go in.
b.) With this website I would gear it more toward a 2nd graders thinking level. It is a
worksheet of the United States map and we would identify states and capitols while
learning. I would try to make it more enjoyable by putting them in groups of 3
every day and let them pull a state and present that state to the class.
b.) After children begin to put together sentences they move on to sequencing.
With these worksheets they would have to cut out pictures and put them into the
correct order in which things are happening. This way kids can begin to understand
the way stories are formed.
