To whom it may concern:

My name is Aaron Conner and I am applying to be a teacher at your elementary school. I am a

student at Samford University with one more semester of student teaching until I will receive a Bachelor
of Science in Education. I am on track to graduate with an Early Childhood/ Special Education/
Elementary Education/Collaborative Degree (Birth-6th grade). I am also enrolled in the Reserve Officer
Training Corps (ROTC) at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).
During my time at Samford and UAB, I have had numerous experiences in leadership roles and
in observation/assistant roles in a variety of classrooms. Samford has placed me in classrooms as an
observer as early as the second semester during my sophomore year. This means that I have had two full
years of clinical observation time while simultaneously attending class based on early, elementary, or
special education. In addition to the normal class time, I have attended many professional development
sessions including AMSTI training and the Alabama Reading Association Conference 2014, to name a
few. I have also served on the Deans Student Council for two years in a leadership capacity. In the
ROTC program, I have had extensive leadership training during the school year and during the summers
of my sophomore and junior year of college. The combination of military leadership experience and
elementary education clinical opportunities has built my confidence as a structured and effective leader.
These experiences will allow me to have a great impact on a variety of students, collaborate well with
other professionals, and provide a safe and structured learning environment for my prospective students.

I have attached my resume to this letter in order to give you access to the specifics of my education,
military experiences, and other qualifications. I am most appreciative of your time and of your
consideration of my candidacy for your job opening. I look forward to meeting with you face to face and
can be reached at any of the given contact information at the top of this page.

Sincerely,

Aaron Conner
