I took this course thinking I would learn about assessing

yourself medically but didnt. Instead, the course taught
me to assess the medical career as a whole, from patients

Id had previous knowledge of medical terminology from

school, so taking this class was a refresher course for me.

I was grateful for this course because the professor tried

to build me not as a student but a student who was seeking
acceptance into medical programs and wishing to one day
become a healthcare profession. I learned how to market and

While taking this course, I was glad that I had taken

medical terminology. While I did learn about many different
drugs, I had to be able to correctly read any specific
instructions about when and how to consume certain drugs.

HIV DISEASE: A HUMAN CONCERN

Taking this course was not my first choice but overall Im

glad that I did. HIV Disease is very close to my heart
because I lost a brother to AIDS. I want to know more about
the disease and how it literally attacks the body.

AFRICAN HISTORY SINCE 1870

I took the above two courses for personal reasons. I

really dont know a lot about my culture. I know the
key people like MLK Jr. but he wasnt the only one
to make major strides in African American
advancement. I learned about several people who did
their part and I also learned more about African
history. Both AFA 3102 and AFH 3200 were taken face
to face.

All of the above psychology courses were taken face to

face and they were taken because before switching to
IDS as a major, I had a minor in psychology. I have
always been fascinated with being about to
psychoanalyze people and figure out why people do
certain things. The smallest event in a persons life
can have the biggest impact ever seen.

What drives me to take courses?

There were several different reasons as to why I chose
to take the classes that I have chosen. The psychology
courses that I have taken have to do with things that I
am personally interested in. How someones cultural
affects them is interesting to me. The medical classes
the I have taken are stemming from my goal of becoming
an Obstetrics Physician Assistant. I still have a few
pre requisites that need to be taken before I can enter
P.A. school. I plan to graduate from UCF in the fall
and take my pre requisites at a state college. I am all
about womens health and making sure healthy babies are
making it to this world. Majority of my classes are
taken either online or in the early morning. This works
well for me because I have a hectic work schedule. Most
of my work shifts are between 10-12 hours long. I
prefer online over anything. I also prefer to have
classes only on Thursday and Friday.
