EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The perishable items include milk, vegetables, meat, yogurt, cheese, hot dog etc. and
perishable items like dry beans, grains, pasta, cereals, tea and coffee bags. It also
provides household maintenance and baby items. All sales are registered into the
bookkeeping.
The store has become very useful in the area over the last two years. People that live in
that community are mostly families and single parent, so they have responsibilities and
needs. The company provides difficult-to-find products so people dont have to run
many miles and make deep research to find some products. Over half of the population
has expressed their loyalty toward the store and feel confident to make business with it.
Makarioss business is really unique and special in itself. The first crucial aspect of its
uniqueness is based on trust. Customers believe and trust the products and services
offered. Several aspects contribute to the firms specialty such as the free delivering
merchandise and the survey questionnaire asking about the customers point of view.
Makarios listen to its customers feedback and follow up.
Makarioss income profit has increased over the last two years. These profits are
obviously based on the first opening of the business where everything was new for the
population. Their expectations were high and valuable. Still the company generate
effective revenues.
Beyond these profits Makarios has more realistic and achievable goals for the future.

Makarios Grocery Store is an existing mom and pop sole proprietorship business that
operates quality of goods and services to consumers. It has created in April 2012 and
located in the capital of Haiti Port-au-Prince, Delmas 95, rue orestre chery #57. The firm
has a normal size in larger for a business to operate and a total of four employees. Two
chief executive officers, one manager, and two cashiers. The business targets its market
to different type or level of customers including children, young and adults no matter
their incomes. Makarios grocery store has two years of experience and has generated
rapid growth, high net profit over the last 2 years and build strong relationship with its
customers. Still Makarios has realistic goals to achieve within ten years such as to have
branches in different areas of the country. It has hope in becoming a broader
marketplace in 2018. By that time the business expects to be able to provide different
types of products and services to its customers while operating high revenues and to
have a website so it can provide online services. The firm strives to help the population
to manage their income. The store slogan is Buy and keep on buying.

The business offers high quality of product coming from Dominican Republic, Panama,
Curassow and locals products as well. These countries provide higher trading benefits
high quality. The company makes sure that it provides effective, desired and well known
product to the population. These items include: milk, vegetable, meat, cheese, peanut
better, grains and pasta, canned soups, breads, oil, potatoes, beans, spices, butter,
candies, snack, cookies, bakery, etc. These items have a high percentage of demand.
Household Essentials:
In that category the firm offers houses items including: cleaning supplies, vacuum,
bathroom and laundry items, etc. It provides the necessary items for the maintenance
of houses at a considerable price.
Gifts:
Gifts are available at the store for any occasion or event. The gift card is limited to a
category of expensive items and services.
Ordering:
People are able to make special order and any type of reservation of items through
phone calls or messages 24/7.
Free Delivery:
The delivery section is at no cost and everywhere which contributes to the uniqueness
of the company.

This service offers the customers the ability to make internationals and locals calls at a

that go to school. So, the strategy that the company is using cover their needs and
expectations. Makarios offers discount on sales and offers that are attractive to
customers. The customer service is one of the strategy, it has built strong
relationship with their customers over the last few years. The overnight and every
day services are also two excellent strategies.
Competitors: Meli Melo Company, Flip Flop Provisions Alimentary, Bondye Bon
Store are some companies that are in general the most direct competition.
Makarioss grocery store compete with a small amount of businesses that offer
similar products but different brands.
The mission statement of this company has a great power on dealing with
competitors. It believes that helping its customers in making savings, and building
loyalty customers will help competing the competitors effectively.

The market place has been very challengeable over the years. Many different brands
from foreign countries are getting into the market place which is the result of variation
in price, so companies are looking for opportunities that offer more benefits and
accountability. Because of that variation and modification among the items which lead
to a differentiation between the products, the target market tend to be heterogenic.
Makarios offers a variety in product either in brands or quality so people are likely to
experience new product. The community offers a wide access to new entrepreneurs in
terms of increasing business opportunities. The company makes sure that its advertising
strategy works toward its target and values the quality of the products, the considerable
variety in price, and the effective customer service.
Market Needs
The whole population needs a stability and availability of products and services at
different times. Those who are full time workers expect being able to buy something at
any time after work in case they need it, so Makarios meets their expectations by
staying late at night. The trust is one of the need. They need to trust your product in
term of expiration date and how durable is the product before they make any purchase.
More than the half of the population believe in convenience product. Those who are

specialty and shopping products are mostly required by the community.

The company improves its market strategy and makes sure it works toward the
effective target market and the level of competition. This strategy is strongly
based on advertising the top brands recognition and to deeply describe its
products and the differences among the competitors. The firm actually uses
flyers to advertise its products and services. The marketing plan set up by the
manager will use TV-show and commercials in the future. Another strategy that
the company has done is personal selling with its customers.
Sales and Pricing Strategy:
Makarios grocery store focus its sales strategy on having the customers coming
back after their purchases by the quality of the products and acknowledge of the
employees. The store basically has two different categories of sales as
mentioned above: Retail sale and Wholesale which lead the company to an
effective in sales. Prices are mostly depending on season and occasion.
Discounts, Specials offer, and sample product contribute to a deep number of
loyal customers coming in the store and to attract new customers. Makarios
store allows order whether by phone calls or messages to serve its clients.
