This web page contains aprimary focus on English immigrants. The information is presented in
a

chronological list detailing how English immigration has changed over the course of American

history. While this may be a narrow topic, I think it wilt beneficial to include since most
America's ancestors came from England, Scotland, or Ireland. While this is valuable information

with

a unique focus, the

reliability of this source is unknown. Because of this, I will limit the

amount of infonnation I take from this resource.

Annual Report of the Immigration andNatwalization Service. Washington: U.S. G.P.O., 1933.

(Annual Report)

This is a periodical published by the Immigration and Naturalization service and the Bureau

of

Immigration, so it is a very credible source, despite this edition being published in 1933. So even
though it may seem outdated, there are multiple other editions that are in the library with later

Bagley

publication dates. This resource provides a lot of statistics regarding to immigration, so it would
be a great resource to construct a graph or table based on its information. The only problem

with

this source that I noticed is range of information it contained. Since it was an annual report, it
only contained information relevant to that year, and as a result I probably won't use it as a

..-.-

source as

I need to look at broader information.

This web page contains aplethora of infonnation pertaining to immigration. Ever,, single fact on
the web page includes an in-text citation, which links the information to the bibliography at the

bottom of the page. This page also contains some extended reading links and book. The
information is presented in cluonological order, and it contains both statistical and analytical
information about immigration. It is a very detailed overview, and it contains the perfect amount
of depth for my project. This is a very good source that

my project.

This book was actually one of the first books I looked at in the library, and coincidentally the
best source

I've used to date. It contains both quantitative and qualitative data on immigration

Bagley

starting with the earliest immigrants to America (nomads from Asia) to immigants of the
1980's. The book does a good job of showing how, why, and when different groups came to

America. The only drawback with this souree is that it may be too in depth. By that I mean that
there is just so much information in this book, that it is hard to decipher between what I need and

so much usefirl information from

it.

(Duigman)

This webpage/article/blog contains some similar infonnation contained in other sources, but in
an easier to read and condensed format. The author covers many different aspects of immigration
and how

it

has changed over history

with the regard to the politics, policies, public opinion, and

pafierns. This source is very informative, and it provides some excellent charts that could be
included in my project. The information seems highly credible due to the bibliography, the
professional writing, and the detail ofthe information. This is a great resource and I

will

definitely use this in my project.

This book provides fantastic pictures and illusfations that would be excellent to use in a
presentation. It contains wonderfrrl visuals on immigration from the 1700's to a late as the
1960's, but unfortunately, there is little written information contained in this book. Despite that,

think it would still make a stong resource for my presentation due to the multiple supporting
images

I could

use.

This web page contains excerpts from the journal of Gottlieb Mittelberger in addition to other
zupporting evidence. This source provides a first hand experience of what Immigration looked

like, and because of that, it would provide a unique perspective to include in my presentation. I
believe it to be a very strong source since it contains a lot of factual information based on real-

life information, and since this webpage mostly contains excerpts,I can check the credibihry
reading the actual journal itself and comparing it to the web page.

This book is a good balance of visual information and written information, but tlre subject is a

little different than my topic. While this book does contain some information relating to
immigration in the United States, its primary focus is to document the change in the actual
government agency called The Immigration and Naturalization Service. While this is very
credible source,

ect very muclr, so

I don't think I will

end up using it.

(Schmidt)

This online webpage is presented as a summaizedversion of a book. It contains pictures and

texts overviewing immigration as a whole. While this source provided a.nice outline with a good

timeline, there was oo new knowledge gained from this soruce. The credibility is also unknown
since no citations were used inside the webpage. Because of this,

I will not

use this in

my

project.

This web page contains information about the Statue of Liberty. It shows what the Statue

of

Liberty means to Americans now, and what it meant to the immigrants that first saw it on their

way to Ellis Island. There isn't a whole lot of information on this web pege, but what
information is presented seems credible due to the citatiorrs and well-edited, professional writing.

I will probably noJ include any information of this in th PowerPoint, but instead mention it
when during my oral presentation as the topic is not significant enough to warrant its own slide.
