1. Gather the kids around in the sharing circle, and talk about
Thanksgiving. Talk to them what goes on during their Thanksgiving.
2. Talk to the class about poems. Poetry can be anything you want it to
be.
3. Share the activity Thanksgiving Sensory Poem (I.E: They fill in the
blanks the statement, On Thanksgiving I see..).

4. The students go back to their seats and begin their first draft of
their Thanksgiving poem by filling in the blanks of, I see, I hear,
I smell, I taste, I feel, and I know that.
5. Have the students double check their paper with the teacher before
they can begin on their poem.
6. Gather the students together to share each others poem.
