The purpose of for students to learn about their rights, roles, and responsibilities as
citizens. This lecture will give them an overall understanding that they can carry forward
for the rest of the unit. Students should have a basic understanding of these principles by
the end.
Time: 15 Minutes
Materials: Power Point, lecture worksheet
Anticipatory Set
Warm Up: Students will be asked to think about words that describe the perfect
citizen. After a few minutes, students will be asked to share and I will write them on the
board. This will give us a quick understanding of what everyone thinks makes a good
citizen.
All students will be asked to have a word in mind, as most of them will be asked to share
with the class.

targets? Write a description of what you were
looking for in each assessment.
The remaining portion of this QLP is going to be a lecture with a worksheet for students
to follow along with. Students will turn in this worksheet at the end for accountability
purposes.
Ticket out the door: Students will be asked to write down one new thing they learned
from the lecture. This will be collected as the leave the classroom.
For students that have any type of disability, a worksheet will be created for them that
already has the answers filled in.
The ticket out the door will act as an assessment for this lesson plan. I will be looking for
students to say something new that they learned, and explain this new knowledge.
Complete sentences will be necessary.
