Amazon Rock

In the forest of the Amazon

Theres a groovy dance phenomenon
Beetle's rocking on the forest floor.
Mighty jaguar gives a raucous roar!

Flap your arms like a parrot in flight

Climb like a monkey up the kapok
Now you're doing the Amazon Rock!

Step to the left, jump to the right,

Flap your arms like a parrot in flight
Climb like a monkey up the kapok
Now you're doing the Amazon Rock!

Happy eagle's flapping to and fro,

Boas bopping on the limb below,
Tapir takes a turn with ocelot,
There's no end to all the moves they've
got!

Way up in the forest canopy,

Three toed sloth is hanging from a tree
Howler monkey makes the trees
resound
Butterflies are dancing all around.

Step to the left, jump to the right,

Flap your arms like a parrot in flight
Climb like a monkey up the kapok

Step to the left, jump to the right,

Scene 1
But ask the other porcupines,
And they don't seem to mind.
For they see that my inner self
Is tender through and through
They know that I'm as lovable
As any in the zoo!

Now you're doing the Amazon Rock!

Some say that I'm untouchable
Because of all my spines.

Never Polka with a Porcupine

Never polka with a porcupine.
Dancing isn't part of his design.
You can schottisch with a sheep,
Or swing dance with a swine,
But, never ever ouch! Never ouch ouch
ouch!
Never polka with a porcupine!
Never polka with a porcupine.
Good dance partners aren't hard to find.
You can salsa with a slug,
Just watch out for the slime.
But, never ever ouch! Never ouch ouch
ouch!
Never polka with a porcupine!
He's not too fond of dancing,

Scene 2
Chimps seem lazy,
and sometimes crazy.
Gorillas are hairy,
and kind of scary.
We like to watch apes at the zoo.
Monkey see, and monkey do!

Or other fancy prancing.

He'd rather show off his tree climbing
skills.
Be careful how you treat him,
The next time you meet him,
Because he's covered head to toe in
quills.
Never polka with a porcupine.
That's the point where you must draw
the line.
You can cha cha with a chimp,
That swings from vine to vine.
But, never ever ouch! Never ouch ouch
ouch!
Never polka with a porcupine! OUCH!

Go Ape!
The ape house has that big band jazz.
It makes you want to dance.
The primate beat is oh so sweet.
It puts you in a trance.

Chimpanzee picks a pair of sticks

and beats them on the ground.
Orangutan, that forest man
starts stampin' all around.

The apes react when silverback

Begins to thump his chest.
Cause he's the king of ape house swing.
They know that he's the best!

The beat starts low, but starts to grow

as all the gibbons sing.
Gorillas bop, bonobos hop,
Those apes can really swing!

And once the beat takes hold of you

you simply can't escape__
There's only one thing you can do__
Go ape!
Go ape!

And once the beat takes hold of you

you simply can't escape__
There's only one thing you can do__
Go ape!
Go ape!
Go ape!!

Scene 3
Tiger! Tiger! Burning bright
In the forests of the night!
Lion! Lion! Big and strong
Your roar is like a powerful song!
Leopard! Leopard! All those spots!
Lets hear your sound, give it all you've got!

Cool Cats
The stars are shining high above the
zoo at night
The animals are sleeping 'neath the pale
moonlight
But then you hear a roar,
and the night begins to howl_____
You better watch out,
'Cause the cool cats are on the
prowl___
The lion is the leader of the cool cat
pack.
The tiger comes along to find a midnight
snack.
The leopard and the lynx,
join in for the nightly growl____
You better watch out,
'Cause the cool cats are on the
prowl___

Scene 4
Splish splash, a flick of the ear
Tell me what sound do you hear?
A big yawn and a loud sound
Is there large animal around?
Look! Its a hippo heading for a dance!
Here they come, ready to advance!

The zoo's main attractions are causing a

distraction
They're having fun and strutting around
the place.
They may be only playing,
But every zebra's staying
Secure inside their cages just in case!
So when the cats have danced and
played
the night away,
They go back to their cages where they
sleep all day.
The sun is coming up and the cool cats
are chilling now.
But you better watch out,
'Cause the cool cats are on the
prowl_____
But you better watch out,
'Cause the cool cats are on the
prowl_____

Hippo Hop
Friday night a Hop was hosted by the
kangaroo
Jumpin' frogs and rabbits came,
and leaping lemurs too!
Bouncy critters came from every corner
of the zoo

When the hippos did the hop it made a

thunderous sound!
Fifty tons of mammal could be heard for
miles around!
They did so much hoppin' that the walls
came crashing down

Everything was great until a knock came

at the door
When it opened, in walked twenty
hippos, maybe more!
They had come to join the fun.
They headed for the floor.

When the dust had settled, kangaroo

was in distress.
She surveyed the wreckage caused by
uninvited guests.
But the guilty hippos stayed all night to
clean the mess!

And the floors started creaking.

The roof started leaking.
The walls started shaking.
The whole house was quaking.
And the dance came to a stop! ....
When the hippos did the hop!

And the floors started creaking.

Scene 5
First we saw the white bear, then we saw the black.
Then we saw the camel with a hump upon his back.
Then we saw the grey wolf with meat in his paw.
Then we saw the wombat, waddle in the straw.
All of these animals are oh so heavenly.
