Two friends and the bear

Two boys went to the forest to hunt for birds. They walked and walked but could not find
any bird big enough to watch. They soon found themselves lost in the woods but they keep on
walking.
While walking, they saw a big bear coming near. One of the boys climbed a tree very fast.
He did not wait for his friend. The other boy had no more time to climb the tree. He lay down
like a dead man, not a slight motion, almost breathless. Soon the bear came around. It smelled
the boy who lay like a dead man. Then it went away.

The boy in the tree came down hurriedly and asked: the bear came to you. He smelled
you. He placed his mouth in your ear. What did he say?
The bear, said the other boy, told me not to go with friends like you. He said you are
not a good friend.
Soon the two boys parted ways. One was wiser, the other was ashamed.
MORAL LESSON:
Not all who claimed to be a friend is really one.
