:: 1st TRIMESTER prompts /You may wish to check them off to keep track ::

Be an ant--Draw what you would see.

Draw something you think is beautiful.
Draw and paint a beautiful object.
Create your own rendition of the American flag.
Find an interesting and unusual stick, rock, and/or leaf. Draw it realistically on one page, add colors to
make it look real. On another page draw these items abstractly (clue: draw the overall shape, textures,
colors.) Try drawing realistically and abstractly in different ways, try drawing them more than once.
Create a map of your neighborhood. Use your own symbols to mark important places and routes.
Create a floor plan of your home. Include interesting tidbits, such as pictures of your favorite foods in the
kitchen.
Create a fantasy floor plan of your home, drawing what would be in each room if you designed it, and
could put anything you wanted in it.
Draw your perfect birthday dinner.
Practice your favorite fonts, view examples on dafont.com
Design a new font
Make a drawing of the car of the future. Include as much detail as possible.
Imagine you have just discovered an ancient sculpture from a long lost civilization on a distant voyage at
sea. As you pull it to the surface, what do you see? What does it look like?
Create 5-10 different self portraits. Draw yourself in different moods, different places, at different times
of day, from different angles.
Illustrate the scenes and characters from a novel you are reading. Include a quote and page #.
Make a picture to fit the following captions:

Yes, it is rocket science.

This is bananas.
Give me back those bananas.
It was written in the stars.
On a cold and lonesome night.
Suddenly, he/she heard a sound.
The trees began to talk.
The forest sang.
TOP SECRET!
A voice began to speak. . .
The Hero prevailed, and the people were saved.
