Students Policy regarding EMSc in Health Administration

1. Communication Mode at IIHS


You will receive the academic notices from IIHS via Google groups.com Please note that you
must first accept the email invitation sent through IIHS in order to receive notices. Please
contact the relevant contact person (Nilakshi@iihsciences.com) if you need any clarification
regarding this.
2. Learning at AeU & IIHS
The modes of learning at AeU & IIHS have been specially developed to suit the requirements
of distant learners like yourselves who need to manage your career, education and family.
2.1 The mode of learning is Blended Learning (BL).
Self-Managed Learning
Self-Managed learning gives the freedom for you to learn at your own pace with the help of
learning materials.
Online Learning
You can access online learning through IIHS VLE (www.iihsvle.weebly.com) and Yahoo
group. Online learning allows you to do the following:

Access and download learning materials including assignment questions, e-content and
notes from tutors

Interact and communicate with colleagues and tutor through the online forum such as
chat or email

Share files with fellow learners via yahoo group.

Receive important announcements or notification from the AeU University or IIHS.

IIHS VLE provides a channel for learners to obtain various services from the Institute.

2.2 Digital Library


To enrich your learning experience, AeU provides you with a state-of-the-art digital library.
The library is equipped with the best learning resources relevant to your field of study. You can
access the e-books, e-journal, e-thesis and others as long as you are connected to the internet.
3. Attendance
Candidates are required to fulfill 06 hours of lecture session per week. This will be monitored as
non-graded activity.
The attendance of the Face-to-face interaction will be monitored from the attendance register
which you should place your signature when you participate for the lectures at HIS.
In order to verify your attendance via online please follow steps below.
1. You have to login through www.iihsvle.weebly.com (Home page) and click the Health
Admin tab so you will be getting a Log in form.

2. You have to enter the registration details and click submit it will automatically redirect
to Health Admin VLE page.

3. After referring the learning materials in VLE page you should click on Log out tab and
fill out respective details.

4. Your log in time and out time will be recorded as entries as online participation.

3.1 Participation in and interaction during the lecture play a crucial and vital role in your learning
process and assessment. You should strive to attend all the lectures for the course(s) that you
have registered for in a semester.
3.2 You must satisfactorily complete the assessed components of the prescribed courses for the
programme. If you fail to adhere to this requirement, you would be barred from taking the
examination in the courses concerned.
3.3 You may be barred from taking the examination for a course if you have outstanding
fees due to the University. You are prevented from receiving the Examination Entry
Authorization Slip until the due fees have been settled before the examination and you would be
barred from participating in the examination without the Examination Entry Authorization
Slip.
3.4 You shall be awarded zero marks in the examination and grade F for a course if you are
barred from sitting the examination for the course.
4. Re-registration
4.1 In a semester system, you are required to re-register every semester.
4.2 If you are not registered in any given semester, you will not be allowed to attend any tutorials
or submit any coursework to the Institute.
4.3 You will only be registered with the Institute once the semester fee is paid.
4.4 If you do not re-register before the registration date, you are expected to apply for deferment
for the semester, failing which you are considered as inactive. You may apply for deferment
using the form supplied by the Institute two weeks after the end of the registration period.
5. Deferment
5.1 You may opt to defer your studies under exceptional circumstances, subject to the approval
of the Institute.

Application for deferment must be made in writing.


5.2 Application received after the second lecture would entitle no refund on any fees already paid
for the semester and you are still required to settle the semesters fees. In such cases the Grade
W will be awarded to each of the courses registered earlier for the semester.
6. Evaluation
6.1 The mode of assessment for the courses in AeUs degree programmes is revised from time to
time to be abreast with current trends and development on formative and summative assessment
in higher education. Invariably, the revisions may result in changes to the assessed components,
the component marks weight age and the examination questions format. In this regard, you are
advised to refer regularly to the IIHS VLE website and your Faculty for the latest information.
6.2 The evaluation will consist as follows:
1. Assignments
2. Modular exam: Modular examinations will be held as per the schedule
3. VIVA- 60mints based on the total assignments what they have submitted

6.3 Examination guide: the examination will be synchronized with the Sri Lankan scheduled
time. Written papers will be forwarded through email and that has to be forwarded during the
schedule hour. MCQ will be online via Online Quizes you can participate at the same time.
The online students viva can be done online through skype with IIHS assessment panel.
Viva is based on the case study you have done throughout the program.
The candidates are required to have their case studies during the VIVA.
6.4 In order to obtain the Degree Qualifications, you must obtain at least grade C (Grade point =
2.00) for these courses. Several core compulsory and prerequisite courses in your study
programme may also require a pass with at least grade C. You should refer to your Faculty
for the latest list and the passing grade requirement of the core compulsory and prerequisite
courses.

7. Submission of Assignment/ Activities:


7.1: Schedule Activities: please follow the scheduled given as table for the following
1. You are requested to perform general activities (minimum 50 words per question) and
leading activities after following the course as per the instructions.
2. Submission of activities and assignment. You should submit the leading activities of
each module via IIHS VLE to the program coordinator. The minimum word count should be 300
words in APA format.
3. The assignments has to be forwarded per the schedule.
Schedule of activities (every week you are expected to complete general activities and the
leading activities.
7.2: Modular Assignment:
You should submit the soft copy of assignment(s) for your courses before the stipulated deadline.
Assignment(s) should be handed over to the course coordinator (soft copy should be emailed).
Students can request an extra two weeks to extend the due date for the assignment submission.
The request should be done before the due date via IIHS VLE.
After the deadline assignments shall not be accepted for grading by the IIHS and you have to
repeat the entire course module with the next batch.
Any assignment submitted for marking cannot be resubmitted after it has been marked and marks
have been awarded.
8. Marks and Grades Management
8.1 You shall only be informed of the tentative marks from the IIHS. Asia e University, Malaysia
has the final authority to finalize the marks.

8.2 The final examination results for each semester must be deliberated and approved by the
Faculty/University Examinations Committees before it is released to you.
8.3 Your examination results shall be released subject to the approval of the University Senate.
8.4 The Registrar shall be responsible for the release and issue of all official results and for
updating and maintaining your official academic records.
9. References
Students are recommended to refer following learning guides who will enable to gain an extra
knowledge of the course contents. IIHS provide these book at a very low cost in prior request.
