Read the description for each scholarship carefully. Some applications are available online
and others are in the Scholarship Drawer which is located in the School Counseling lobby.

Be aware of all deadlines!! If a transcript and/or letter of recommendation are required to


accompany a scholarship application, the request for the transcript/letter must be into school
counseling 10 days in advance of the deadline.

AXA Achievement Scholarship: This is a national scholarship that awards scholarships in the amount of
$10,000-$25,000. There is one winner per state. Applications and rules are available at

15, 2014.
The Gates Millennium Scholars Program: The Gates Millennium Scholars (GMS) Program selects 1,000
talented students each year to receive a good-through-graduation scholarship to use at any college or
university of their choice. The 2015 GMS Online Application is open until the Wednesday, January 14, 2015

Virginia Daughters of the Revolution (DAR) American History Scholarship: This scholarship is for a
student who plans to attend college at a Virginia school and complete a minimum of 24 credit hours is
American History or Government. Applications require a sponsoring DAR chapter and instruction for obtaining
sponsorship are included on the application materials. Applications and additional materials can be found in the
scholarship drawer or at www.vadar.org First place awards are $2500. Applications are due January 16, 2015.
Virginia Daughters of the Revolution (DAR) Nursing Scholarship: This scholarship is for a student who
plans to attend college at a Virginia school and earn a degree in nursing. Applications require a sponsoring DAR
chapter and instruction for obtaining sponsorship are included on the application materials. Applications and
additional materials can be found in the scholarship drawer or at www.vadar.org First place awards are
$2500. Applications are due January 16, 2015.

Ronald McDonald House Charities US Scholarship Program: This is a scholarship program that has
multiple scholarships for multiple backgrounds. Applicants must be US Citizens and plan to attend a program
of study after high school that is either technical or college based. Information on all scholarships offered can
be found at http://www.rmhc.org/rmhc-us-scholarships Applications and supporting documents must be
submitted by January 20, 2015.
Henrico County/VCU Engineering Scholarship: This scholarship is for a student that has been accepted to
the VCU School of Engineering. Criteria to apply include permanent residence in Henrico Co., must be
pursuing an Advanced Diploma, have a GPA of 3.3 or higher, have an SAT score of 1130, and be enrolled in
Calculus of have completed the class. Applications are due to Mrs. Smith January 23, 2015 and can be found in
the scholarship drawer.
Baldacci Education Fund Scholarship: This is a scholarship for a student with a financial need, GPA of 3.0 or
above, in pursuit of an Advanced Diploma, and has held leadership positions in extra-curricular activities.

This scholarship is for $2000 and will be awarded to one Henrico County student. Applications are in the
scholarship drawer and due to Mrs. Smith March 6, 2015.
The TJ Berry Memorial Scholarship: Seniors who are planning to pursue a program of study that will lead to
a career in criminal justice, law enforcement, nursing, forensic science, fire science, EMT, and/or participating
in a college ROTC program with plans to enlist in the military are eligible for this $1200 scholarship.
Applicants must have a 2.75 GPA or higher and be able to provide evidence of a commitment to school and
community service. Scholarships applications are in the Scholarship Drawer and due to Mrs. Smith in School
Counseling March 6, 2015.
Dr. Jo Lynne DeMary Scholarship: Students who are planning to obtain a Virginia teaching license in math,
science, exceptional education, and/or ESL are eligible to apply for this scholarship. This is a one time $1000
award given to one Henrico County student. Applicants should have a 3.0 GPA or higher, have financial
need, and be able to present evidence of leadership. Applications are in the scholarship drawer and due to
Mrs. Smith in School Counseling March 6, 2015.
Governor James S. Gilmore Future Educator Scholarship: Applicants must be planning to obtain a teaching
certificate, have a 3.0 GPA or higher, be able to present evidence of leadership, be involved in extracurricular
activities and demonstrate a strong desire to return to Henrico County to teacher. This is a $2000 scholarship
that will be awarded to a Henrico County student. Applications are available in the scholarship drawer and
due to Mrs. Smith in School Counseling March 6, 2015.
Ann M. Martin Learning for Life Scholarship: This is a $1000 scholarship that will be awarded to a Henrico
County student who has a GPA of 2.5 or above, has been enrolled in Henrico County for at least 3 years, and
can submit evidence of a commitment to the promotion of libraries and literacy. Applications are in the
Scholarship drawer and due to Mrs. Smith in School Counseling March 6, 2015.
Benjamin J Lambert Scholarship Fund: This is a $1000 scholarship that will be awarded to a Henrico County
student. Applicants should be leaders in the school/community, have a GPA of 3.0 or above, have a financial
need, and be able to present evidence of involvement in extra-curricular activities. Applications are in the
Scholarship drawer and due to Mrs. Smith in School Counseling March 6, 2015.
Carol L. Kenzer Memorial Scholarship: This is a $1000 scholarship for a student who attended Moody
Middle Schools IB program and planning to attend a 4 year college/university. Applications are in the
Scholarship drawer and due April 3, 2015. This is a change from previous instructions!
Marybeth Graff Scholarship: This is a scholarship that will be for between $500 and $1500. Applicants
should be planning to pursue a career as a special education teacher or in a career support children with
special needs. Applicants will be judged on their service rendered to others, their GPA (Must be above a 3.0),
their character (integrity, responsibility, trustworthiness, and concern for others), and their applications.
Applications are available in the scholarship drawer and due before April 24, 2015.
Lexus of Richmond Scholarship: This scholarship is for students who are involved in athletics, extracurricular activities, demonstrate leadership & good citizenship, and have maintained excellent scholarship.
Applications must be typed and a recommendation from a coach, counselor, or principal must be obtained.
Nominees are selected weekly to compete for the $10,000 scholarship which will be awarded in May 2015.
Applications will be emailed and forms to request this email are in school counseling.
Suntrust Off To College Scholarship Sweepstakes: Two scholarships of $500 each will be awarded to
entrants of this scholarship sweepstakes. Winners are chosen at random and GPA is not a factor. To submit
information, go to https://www.suntrusteducation.com/scholarshipsweepstakes/index.html before May 15,
2015.

School Specific Scholarships


The Jefferson Scholarship (UVA): This is a scholarship for a student who plans to attend UVA and is for full
tuition and board. Tucker may nominee one student. Please submit a resume of activities and a one-page
essay about a leadership role and its impact on you to Mrs. Smith in School Counseling by November 14, 2014.
Volunteer Scholarships (University of Tennessee Knoxville): Students who plan to attend University of
Tennessee Knoxville and will apply by December 1, 2014 are eligible for institutional scholarships. Criteria

UVA Scholarship Opportunities: UVAs website for scholarship information is

Nancy Necessary Pridemore & GeorgAnn Voland Buck Scholarships (Radford): Students who plan to
attend Radfords School of Dance & Theatre and have a GPA of 3.3 and a combined SAT of 1100 or
higher/ACT of 24 or higher are eligible for consideration. Applicants must demonstrate an excellent level of
achievement in theatre through an audition, portfolio, or interview. In order to eligible, students must apply
to Radford prior to January 23, 2015. Eligible students will be sent application packets after review of the
admissions application.
The Gloria Willie Bell & Carlos R. Bell Charitable Trust (University of Michigan): This scholarship is for a
student who plans to pursue a degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science or other related
field at the University of Michigan. This scholarship is available to Virginia residents only and can be worth
up to $80,000 over 4 years. Applications and additional information available at www.bellscholarship.org
Scholarship applications and essays are due before February 1, 2015.
The Institute Scholarship Program (VMI): Students who plan to attend VMI, have a 3.7 GPA, and a
combined SAT of 1350 (Reading & Math) or an ACT of 30 are eligible to apply. Applications are in the
scholarship drawer. Applications and supporting materials are due February 1, 2015.
