COLUMBUS,OhioThefieldof224playoffqualifiershasbeencutinhalf,as112schoolshavemovedontothe
secondroundofthe2014OhioHighSchoolAthleticAssociationfootballplayoffs.Thesecondroundistheregional
semifinalsinDivisionsIIthroughVIIandtheregionalquarterfinalsinDivisionI.Afterthehigherseedshosted
gameslastweekendinthefirstround,allplayoffssitesarenowselectedbytheOHSAA.

Thehometeams(higherseeds)went8824inthefirstroundoftheplayoffs.Eightschoolswontheirfirstplayoff
gameinandaNo.16seedwonitsfirstroundgameforthefirsttime.Thosenotesandmoreareincludedinthe
weeklynotespacketlinkedbelow.

InAugust,723teamsbeganthefootballseasonand224(31percent)qualifiedfortheplayoffsbasedonthe
OHSAAscomputerpointsratingsystem.
