The first 8 weeks of my college experience has been extremely educational
and has taught me a lot. I am taking an array of courses in which I have great
interest in, and I have been learning a lot from them. I am currently enrolled in four
courses, which include College 1, Psychology 41, Business 14A, and English 1A.
Unexpectedly, College 1 has taught me a lot more than I thought it would. The time
management lesson that we learned in class was very informational and helped me
with my work, not only pertaining to school. The research paper assignment was
not as easy because my lack of experience with research papers in my past. In order
to improve on this area I will utilize the online resources for research papers that
my teacher informed me about and then go to Shatford library and use the endless
amount of resources that they offer. I also plan on speaking with other school
administration and staff to help me with the whole process. Another class Ive taken
a liking for is my psychology course.
Psychology 41 has been an interesting course that I look forward to
attending every week. I have learned a lot about myself, and others, through the in-
class discussions of which we have every time we meet. It is an enriching
experience that I have come to embrace throughout these weeks. This course has
really dug deep into figuring out yourself and others, which I had trouble with in the

beginning. I plan on studying more, paying attention to details in class, and
ultimately trying to figure out an explanation for why we do what we do. On that
note, English 1A has been a class that has really pushed me to answer questions
with in-depth thought and reasoning.
So far, in my English 1A course, I have been pleased with how this class is
going and how much I have learned through its teachings. The papers that we have
to write are rigorous and really ask for a lot from the writer, and because of this my
writing has improved immensely through great practice and thought. My attention
to detail and ability to elaborate deeply on my claims have progressed quickly from
novice level to sensational measures, which is evident from the As I have received
on my papers. However, the in-class essay at the beginning of the year was a little
tougher for me. I plan on looking back at my mistakes, clarifying them with my
professor, and revising the whole essay in preparation for the next essay. Finally,
my math class has been fairly good to me so far.
Business 14A has been my favorite math course that Ive taken throughout
my whole life because it orientates with what I plan on doing for my future career. I
have found success in the work and in trying to understand the mathematical
equations plugged into the business concept situations. However, there are still a
few concepts that Im not completely familiar with. I plan on tackling these
problems by asking questions, doing the homework, and applying my knowledge to
the work.
