Objective
Gain employment as an agricultural educator in order to teach students about agricultural opportunities in
order to better themselves to be productive citizens.

Work Experience
Assistant, EDEM Acres June 2004-Present
Work on the family owned farm to care for beef steers and market lambs. Operate farm machinery on
over 300 acres of row crops to provide hay and grain for livestock consumption and cash crops.
Assistant, Bobette Farms June 2004-September 2011
Worked on a 150-cow family owned dairy operation to assist in daily chores and milking. Operated farm
machinery on corn and alfalfa ground to produce feed for dairy cows, heifers and steers.
State Vice President, State President, WI Association of FFA June 2010-June 2012
Represented 19,000 Wisconsin FFA members in 2010-2011 as State Vice President and in 2011-2012 as State
President. I led a team of 11 officers as we each traveled over 280 days and 30,000 miles during our year
of service while we advocated for Agricultural Education and FFA programs in public schools. Conducted
leadership workshops for middle and high school students, put together promotional materials, conducted
media and public relations for Wisconsin FFA and met with government and business leaders.
Writer, University Information and Communications Office September 2012-Present
Responsible for writing press releases for the University of Wisconsin-Platteville that feature the success of
students, staff and alumni of the university. The focus of many articles has been on the success of students
and faculty in The School of Agriculture at UW-Platteville.
Summer Intern, Wisconsin Agriculturist June 2013-August 2013
Worked as an employee of Farm Progress Publications for the regional Wisconsin Agriculturist magazine.
Responsible for interviewing and writing 20 feature stories on a variety of agricultural producers and people
of interest. Was hired as a monthly contributor to the magazine after my internship ended.
360 Conference Facilitator, National FFA Organization August 2013-June 2014
Responsible for facilitating seven leadership conferences for high school students hosted in six states. Along
with a partner, we will reach approximately 1,000 high school students with a message of influence for their
schools and communities.
Marketing Communications Intern, Accelerated Genetics June 2014-August 2014
Created feature articles for the Genetic Trends publication, wrote news releases, designed promotional
materials, updated the cooperatives website, generated electronic newsletters and worked with the
communications team to develop a year-long advertising campaign.

Mauston High School June 2010
Attended and graduated Mauston High School with a 3.7 GPA. Was actively involved in nine student and
community organizations. Was heavily involved in agricultural education and the Mauston FFA Chapter.

University of Wisconsin Platteville September 2010-Present
Majoring in Agricultural Education with plans to teach high school Agriculture in a rural Wisconsin school
district. Current college GPA of 3.35. Member of UW-Platteville Collegiate FFA chapter, Treasurer of Alpha
Zeta agricultural honors fraternity and member of UW-Platteville Collegiate Farm Bureau.

Accomplishments
National Institute on Cooperative Education Youth Scholar July 2010
Recognized at the NICE Conference in Knoxville, Tenn. as the youth scholar. I competed and was
awarded this honor based upon my knowledge of cooperative businesses
Vice President, iLEAD Charter School January 2011-June 2012
Served on the governance council that established iLEAD charter school in Mauston, Wis. iLEAD students
focus their curriculum on entrepreneurship and leadership. Interviewing and hiring top-notch educators
and working to establish best practices for a new charter school in the Mauston School District was part of
this position.
State FFA President, Wisconsin Association of FFA June 2011-June 2012
Served as the leader of an 11-person officer team. Led public relations efforts and worked with the state
officer team to reach a membership high of nearly 19,000 FFA members.
Member, National FFA Officer Nominating Committee October 2012
Served on a committee of nine to select the 2012-2013 National FFA Officer team. Received training on
behavioral interviewing techniques and current agricultural issues. Interviewed 42 national officer
candidates in a series of interviews during the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Ind.
Education Abroad Program in Ghana January 2013
Spent three weeks during winter break of 2012-2013 in Ghana, Africa on an education abroad program
related to agriculture and womans livelihoods. Experienced the culture of another country while visiting
historical sites and working farms. Collaborated with Ghanas Amrahia Dairy Farm and local farmers to
improve agricultural practices in Ghana, specifically in the dairy industry.
International Collegiate Agricultural Leadership Program-Brazil May 2013
Participated in a two week long program is Brazil that explored international agriculture. I-CAL was
sponsored by the U.S. Grains Council and focused on the impact of Brazilian agriculture on the U.S.
markets. Our group toured research institutes, farms and cultural sites during our trip. Networked with other
young leaders in agriculture from across the U.S.
American Farm Bureau Collegiate Discussion Meet Winner February 2014
Competed at the college, state and national level to win the American Collegiate Farm Bureau contest.
Worked with a panel of contestants to discuss current agricultural issues and potential solutions. This
contest increased my knowledge of agricultural policy and my cooperative attitude. I competed against
over 40 students from some of the best agricultural colleges across the nation.
