Theories of the greenhouse effect
The greenhouse effect means heat from the sun comes into the Earths
atmosphere, and cannot escape. It is similar to when you leave your care in a parking
lot with all of the windows rolled up, and when you get in your car it is hotter than the air
outside. This is also what happens in a greenhouse when you leave all of the doors,
and windows closed. The name of the heat that hits the earths surface is called short
wave radiation. When it leaves the surface it is called long wave radiation. Heat in this
form is then absorbed and stored in water vapor and carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
Many scientists believe that the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is
increased by 0.4 percent each year because of the massive consumption of fossil fuels
such as oil, coal, and natural gas. Another theory is that the amount of forest logged,
and burned causes deadly greenhouse gasses which are entering the atmosphere even
faster than carbon dioxide. Some scientists even predict that In 100 years time the
average temperature for most parts of the world will increase from between 2C to 6C if
greenhouse pollution continues at its present rate, and this temperature increase would
drastically affect the growth of many different crops and cause the polar ice caps to
melt, thus increasing sea levels to rise up to several meters. If this rise in sea level was
to occur many areas would be much more prone to flooding, and generally much
deeper floods than would be expected today.
I do feel that air pollution from fossil fuels, and other burning substances is a
huge problem, that needs to be addressed, but I dont know if I would necessarily say
that fossil fuels are causing global warming. Look at all of the air pollution from one
volcanic eruption, and volcanos have been going off forever.

I think that every time something in the environment changes everyone, and
there dog want to jump on the I know whats causing this train, but the truth is no one
knows what is causing global warming other than heavenly father.
