Well-completed sections!
Who is Hedley connecting with (or trying to connect with) in this section of the book? How is
he doing it? Explain your answer.

Hedley is connecting with Mighty Manny by trying to make Mighty Manny rest in piece by
giving him back his head. He also wanted to do that because he feels that it is wrong to steal
a persons head.

Good explanation.

Make a connection to the book (choose one: Text to Self/Text to Text/Text to World). Explain
your answer briefly with a specific example.

I have a connection to Mighty Manny about a game that I like. The games name is
Assassins Creed 3, which is about a person who is a native American that is trying to protect
his people and his village from people trying to take their land away from them and enslave
them.

Ok a bit too brief with the explanation, but good connection.

Write down at least 3 new vocabulary words and their definitions:

Aboriginals- Australian natives (the people that lived in Australia first).
Head Hunters- Hunters, but they also take heads as trophies.
Missionary- A person set out on a mission to carry out a program or work.
Simple- Retarded or special

Copy out a quote from this section that you think is the most important. Briefly explain your
answer and give the page number.

It is a lonely beach with a lonely sky.
I chose this quote because it is how the whole story started and it is about Hedley on writing
a story at the end of this book. It talks about his achievements and his goals, it shows how he
has changed.

Write down the theme that you think is most important from this section of the book (concept and
statement).

Thematic concept: Confessing, truth

Thematic statement: Confessing something that you did wrong is a hard decision to make.

Justify your answer with a reason: At the end of this book, Hedley confesses everything, but
he also gets to find the truth of why was there a hole and what happened before. The truth
was; Mighty Manny or Major Manners was actually Mr. Hoopers great grandfather who was
hunted down by head hunters and thats why his head was missing.
