" Unable to load s7hprxyxdll " message output after installing a STEP7
option package

Problem / Symptom:
After installing an arbitrary STEP7 option package (e.g. SIMOTION SCOUT, I/O module
updates...) or dearchiving a project

SCOUT runs up, but an error message indicating problems with S7proxyx.dll is output when
opening a project:


The SIMATIC Manager and/or SCOUT can no longer be started
SCOUT runs up, but the system crashes with "Project new..."
An error message indicating problems with S7proxyx.dll is output when starting the hardware
configuration.




Remedy:

1. Terminate SCOUT and SIMATIC Manager.
2. In the STEP7 installation directory, search all s7hCompressedMetaData.cmf files (one of
them is located in the s7met subdirectory and one in each project directory) and delete all
these files.
3. In the directory s7bin, execute the application s7alibxx.exe.
