Job Description
Pediatricians monitor development of their patients.
They also diagnose and treat their patients and prevent them from getting sick.
Pediatricians may give vaccines when they are needed.
They may also give advice to new parents on how to keep their baby healthy.
Training
Becoming a pediatrician requires six years of medical school.
You must also pass the U.S Medical licensing Examination.
People studying in this field may also need to get their Doctor of Medicine(M.D) or
their Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine(D.O).
You need to get your residency training to learn a lot of important aspects in this
career.
One of the schools that I can go to is Baylor College of medicine in Houston, TX .
It has an application fee of $100, the full time tuition is $19,650.

Abilities
The ability to listen is very important because if you do not listen to the patient and
the parents you can harm the patients by giving them things they dont need.
You also need to be able to communicate
You need to know medicine in order to be able to diagnose your patients and to treat
them.
People working in this field need to be able to interact with the child and the childs
parents, because if you dont the parents will feel like you dont care.
Pediatricians need to be very patient because they are working with small children.
They also need to be able to read body language because maybe the child wont say
what they are feeling.
Tasks
They examine patients in order to diagnose them.
They prescribe medication or treatments after diagnosing a patient.
They treat patients with minor illnesses.
Work Values
The values of working as a pediatrician is that you gain the trust of your patients and
you start a relationship with them and their parents.
You will feel independent every time you take care of a patient because nobody is
going to help you.
It isnt in bad working conditions because you are inside and the only real harm is that
the childs cough or cold could be contagious.
