Reflection- What is all the Children

Children do see other children of different races, they see that they are different. I dont
think that children judge others because of their skin is different, etc. they may question why
but thats when the teaching is critical because it is a great opportunity to teach children about
diversity and different cultures. The article talks about how racism also impacts whites. And the
beliefs of white superiority adversely affect white childrens social and emotional development
and impair their ability to function effectively in a diverse world. A lot of people think that
because you are white you are either rich or you are better than everyone else and that can
have a negative effect on children if that is what people think, because than they could treat
children with that negative thought. Some children may have racial conflicts with others of
different skin colors but that is where teaching and modeling comes in, because if you are not
being racist to others of different colors more than likely children are not going to be because
you are showing them what is okay and what is not. With teaching most things can be taught.
