2) The Next Generation Identification systems is upon us. It can identify beyond just a
fingerprint, but through other biological things like scars and facial recognition, along with
tattoos and walk patterns. The Federal Bureau of Investigation has had such technology,
but with the updated system, response times for identification have trickled down to 10 -
15 minutes. It has created potential for a major privacy concern as people may be able
to be tracked randomly, especially if integrated with CCTV cameras everywhere.

b) DuckDuckGo.com
i) http://www.engadget.com/2014/09/15/fbi-ngi-facial-recognition/
c) Both search engines worked about the same. I found the DuckDuckGo.com was
a little easier to navigate through and look at. Bing was a little more detailed with
the articles presented.

b) This emerging technology deals with our privacy and security. It helps identify
criminals and do background check with adequate response times but used in
the incorrect way could pose a privacy threat to the public. And without
justification.
c) Jose Pagliery is the author of the article. I feel the author is a qualified source
due to his employment at a reputable news source, CNN. Also looking him up in
search engines, I can see the many articles he has written for them as well.
d) The information quote the FBIs plans of use of the new technology. The article
also includes hyperlinks to FBI documents and other articles pertaining to the
subject.
e) The main reason for the article is to inform the public of a new technology that
will help in investigations but could be detrimental if used incorrectly.
5) Keywords Used: FBI Surveillance
a) Research Note: THE FBI AND THE POLITICS OF SURVEILLANCE, 1908-
1985.
b) Few share Muslims' concerns about FBI surveillance program
6) Through the powers of the search engine, all of the articles were fairly easy to find. Bing
and the CCBC Library search bar work exactly the same. The information found was
completely different however. For example, the CCBC Library presented more scholarly
information, hence the academic journals, still very easy to go through due to filters. The
CNN article or the Engadget articles had better authority mainly due to the recognition of
the website. The popularity of the sources as well as the inclusion of hyperlinks and
other detailed sources made the information stick.
