Animal Adaptions

Year 5 Science Term 2

Your Task: You are required to create and design an animal that suits one
of the following environments:
Antarctica
Rainforest
Desert
Ocean
Reef
Mangroves
Step 1: You will decide on what habitat you would like to design an animal
for. Inform the teacher of your choice.
Step 2: Start researching your chosen habitat using the planning sheet to
guide your research. Record the information in the planning sheet
(attached).
Step 3: Create and design your animal and label its features and adaptions
(you may draw or sculpt your animal. If you sculpt your animal, you will
then need to take a picture of it so you can label it).
Step 4: Write an information report (in word) on your animal using the
headings on the planning sheet as your headings on the report.
Option: If you wish you may create a website, slide show or poster to
accompany your report. Remember this is optional.
