Identifying as a professional social worker and conduct oneself
accordingly.
Practice Behavior 1.1
Advocate for client access to the service
of social work.
Although the school year has just begun for Red Springs High School, there is
already a very high alert on the issues of self harm and & suicide for students.
With the help of my supervisor and staff I have been made aware of the
programs offered to these students such as but not limited to 504 plans & East
Point.

Practice personal reflection and self-correlation to assure continual
professional development
Every situation requires a different action. With that being said after
observing the supervisors responses and actions, as the intern it has been
clear and easy to understand the appropriate responses to client needs.
Using lunch duty as a time to discuss the expectations and correct any
errors made.

Attend to professional roles and boundaries
Following the learning contract and guidelines created by the social work
department and my supervisor. Always ensuring that I am giving 100% and
zoning in on the main focus of my job as an intern.

Using professional body language, speaking professional, and being
genuinely sensitive to clients and their needs allows me to excel in this
competency.

Although the dress code for professionals at Red Springs High School is very
lenient, I follow the dress code my supervisor had at her old school which is
very strict. This also helps to distinguish me as a professional to the students.

Engage in career-long learning and use
supervision and consultation
I work with my supervisor on daily basis, the social work faculty once a week,
and my peers to ensure that effective learning is taking place.
