MICROHARDNESS TEST FOR SAMPLE C

We have applied micro hardness test to our samples in Universita Delgi Studi di
Modena e Reggio Emilia with Dr. Antonella SOLA. We have applied the test for all samples
(A,B,C and D) on different points also different distances from surface. In here, our main
target is having informations about hardness difference for different points due to the difision.
The zirconia is a more harder material by comparison to glass ceramic (flourapatite and
leucite crystals). So, a more harder area is expected near of interface in glass ceramic area due
to difision of zirconia. And, we expect a dicreasing of hardness in far areas from interface due
to the absence of zirconia difusion. Also, learning about difference of elastic modulus.
Now, we are talking about the microhardness test which was applied on glass ceramic
area of sample C. We have applied the test (Vicker microhardness test) to totaly twenty seven
different points in five different lines (five different distances from interface) by CSM micro
combi tester instrument. We have applied 500 mN load during the test. During the test, we
were collecting graphics and datas of test. After the test, we have examined them in Centro
Ceramico with Dr. Antonella Tucci by SEM and we have taken some selected images.

TEST AREA AND TEST DATAS

We can see the points, distances and selected points for visualization on this image.

We can see some datas about the test like dimensions of deformed area, avarage
dimensions of deformed area, Vicker hardness of the points, avrage Vicker hardness values,
standart deviations and elastic modulus.
