In Technical Collaboration with
EXPRESSIONS INDIA
The National Life Skills, Values Education and School Wellness Program
Delhi Public School Ghaziabad in collaboration with Expressions India launched the Integrated Child
Development and Adolescent Well- being (ICDAW) Centre with an objective to cover the gap between the
children's needs and existing resources.
On 22
nd
August, 2014 the centre was inaugurated by Dr. Jitendra Nagpal, an eminent Psychiatrist,
Programme Director of Expressions India. Expressions India is a CBSE empanelled organization working for
promotion of Life Skills, Value Education and School Wellness. With their technical support and expertise, the
centre would be functioning as a comprehensive referral unit for observation, identification, diagnosis and
management of Child Development, Special Need and Adolescent Health Problems. It would address all
aspects of children's mental health.
The Principals of many prestigious schools of Ghaziabad attended the inauguration ceremony which
was followed by a round table session with Dr. Nagpal. Principal, Mrs Jyoti Gupta shared her vision about the
proposed centre. This collaboration of school and an expert agency would ensure that all children and
adolescents of not only the school but also of the nearby area would have access to the services of this centre.
The idea of providing such services of Special Educators, Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists,
Pediatricians and other professionals under one roof was highly appreciated by all. Various issues related to
observation, identification, diagnosis and management of problems of children were discussed. The need to
sensitize the parents in order to make such efforts successful and beneficial for children was greatly felt by all
the esteemed guests and experts.
