The Genex Probe and Genex Assistant for drive tests are part of the Genex series. The
Genex series can work with many systems, such as GSM, WCDMA, EDGE, CDMA, and
WiMAX. The modules for the WCDMA and GSM systems have found wide commercial
use.
The Genex series is now developed to V200R002SPC140 to serve the WiMAX system.
And it can support Sequans, GCT, Runcom, Beceem chips now.
The Genex series uses the following tools to provide a platform for the network planning
and optimization software of Huawei:
Drive test tools
Genex Probe
Genex Assistant

Operation flow
Connect to the Probe hard dog and MS (GPS)
Setup the Test Plan (optional) ;
Import the engineer parameters, open the map window
and import the test map (optional);
Open the information windows;
Begin to test and record;
Stop the test in the end.

Install the Genex Shared.
Install the Genex Probe & Assistant.
Install the drivers for terminals.
Apply or update for the license and hard dog.

Connect Devices
1. Configure MS and GPS in Device Configuration.

(1) Add MS:
Click + The Device Config dialog box is displayed.
Select MS from the Type list, and then choose the Dongle type then go to next step

Some dongle need to Fulfill the Agent IP address (based on the Dongle type)
The network information of the terminal is displayed, such as IP address.
Click OK.The MS is successfully added.

(2) Add the GPS:
Click +.
The Device Config dialog box is displayed.
Select GPS from the Type list, and then click Next.

Select 4800 from the Baudrate list and COM1 from the Com Port list, and then
click OK.
The GPS is successfully added.

The Hardware Config window displays the successfully added MS and
GPS.

Click Auto Connect.

input the EP file (excel file)

2. Opening a Map and Layer
(1) Choose View > OutdoorMap.
The Map window is displayed.
Adding Map Choose open layer,
click add, then choose map ,
then OK and Finish

Adding map : Click Open Geoset File.
The Open MapInfo File dialog box is displayed.
Select the map information file (with
the GST or TAB extension) that you
want to open, and then click Open.
