How did Anne Franks life impact our

understanding of World War II?



Anne frank is one of the most important people that help us understand World War
II more clearly. Her diary not only reflect her feeling, it recorded whats happening during
the war, how war changed Jewishs life and how she and her family hiding from Hitler. The
end of her life, tell us about the Death camp or the concentration camp. Story of her life
shows us fears and hope the during the war.
Anna Frank was one of Jewish children during World War II. The war brought her to a
horrible life time, because of the nationalism when Hitler held the power. The diary of Anne
Frank told us, what was happing to Jews during the war. She wrote in her diary that There
are no greater enemies on earth than the Germans and Jews (Anne Frank, 1942).In 1940
Jews had to wear the Yellow star of David on their clothing because of nationality
(Holocaust Memorial Museum, 2013, para.3). Jewish people could not go school with non-
Jews after the summer of 1941, at this time Margot(Anne franks older sister) and Anne are
required to attend the Jewish High School, and also they were not able to ride a bike or do
things that other people could do (Holocaust Memorial Museum, 2013). I don't dare do
anything anymore, 'cause I'm afraid it's not allowed (Anne Frank, 1942). During the time of
war, Anne Frank knew and felt the suffering of million Jews and she recorded this in to her
secret diary.
Anne Frank hiding life also help us to build a pictured of what was happening during
World War II. Her diary tells the story of a young womans internal struggle to understand
and cope with Nazi occupation and anti-Semitism (Noonan, 2011, para.3). In 1933, Hitler
became dictator of Germany and began killing Jews because of his anti-Semitic beliefs (UK
Essays, 2013). Anne Frank and her family moved from Germany to Amsterdam in the
Netherland (Holocaust Memorial Museum, 2013, para.2). For two years, they hide in
warehouse, a secret attic apartment behind the office of the family-owned business
(para.4). During her hiding, Anne kept a diary in which she recorded her fears, hope, and
experiences (para.9). She wrote about war and the violence during that time Every night
hundreds of planes pass over Holland on their way to German cities, to sow their bombs on
German solider. (Anne Frank, 1943). Her sentences describe hope and how Jewish people
felt One day this terrible war will be over. The time will come when we will be people again,
and not just Jews! (Anne Frank, 1944).
The end of Anne Franks life reflected how horrible the concentration camp was and
what million Jewish people met. Anne was one of over one million Jewish children who died
in the Holocaust (Holocaust Memorial Museum, 2013, para.1). On Aug. 4, 1944, the Gestapo
raided the apartment following a tip from an unknown informer. Anne and Margot were
sent to the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, where they died of typhus in March
1945(Noonan, para.9).This period of Annes life show us life in concentration camp and the
ending of Jews.
Though the diary of Anne Frank and the story of her life, we can understand what
happen in the war, and it also explaining the events of World War II. Anne kept a diary in
which she not only wrote about the horrors of war but the everyday problems of being a
teenager. Anne Frank's diary is a singular, moving look at World War II from a young girl's
perspective. To learn about Anne Franks life or read her diary will help us understand a lot
more about World War II. Today, there is Anne Franks museum that opens for everyone. At
the museum, people can look at Annes real diary and learn about her life time that gives a
lot of information about World War II.
Anne Frank faced the threat of discovery and death every day while living in the
Secret Annex. Despite terrible circumstances, however, her strength of spirit comes through
in her diary (Scholastic, 2014). Today, Annes diary has since been published in more than 60
languages and has become one of the most influential and widely read literary works in
history. Anne Frank give us a lot of wisdom, help us understand how Jewish people met and
felt during the time of World War II. Anne frank become the reflection of Jews impact our
understanding of World War II.
