Cudahy Unanimously Passes Changes To Fair Housing And Human Rights Ordinance

On Tuesday September 2, 2014, the Cudahy Common Council voted 5-0 on Ordinance No. 2363.2 entitled
An Ordinance Amending City of Cudahy Code of Ordinances Section 9.25 Concerning Fair Housing and
Human Rights in the City of Cudahy.

These changes include the addition of gender identity or expression, which shall mean a persons gender-
related self identity, appearance, expression or behavior, regardless of the persons assigned sex at birth.

Additionally, sexual orientation shall mean a persons actual or perceived heterosexuality, homosexuality,
asexuality, or bisexuality.

The adoption of this ordinance makes Cudahy the fourth city in Wisconsin to incorporate these changes, and
the first to do so by unanimous vote.

I believe the primary role of government is to protect the rights of all its citizens, and I am proud that Cudahy
has shown a continued commitment to equality.
