My Definition of Citizenship

When you are born with the same blood as those living in a certain community, then you
have the right to be labeled as a citizen of their place. You are given the opportunity to be a
resident of the place, have a family, and then pass this on to the next set of citizens. The
question is: How can you fulfill your role as a citizen of the community?
Generally speaking, a citizen must have a certain personality which makes him a proud
and responsible figure of the community. They should be able to possess qualities which they
could use for the betterment of their area. This is what I refer to as citizenship.
First of all, citizenship is defined as the possession of the rights and privileges of a
citizen. For me, though, citizenship is also having the persona of how a model member of the
community should respond to the areas necessities. For example, vote buying is now an
ordinary scenario during election time. To become a model of citizenship, we should decline
such offers and vote wisely. We should not be mesmerized by the sugar-coated speeches, the
catchy songs, and the innocent looking faces because sometimes, these aspects deceive
voters. A person may be a wise citizen as long as he looks at the future of the community when
trusted to the politic.
Furthermore, citizenship also defines who you are as a member of the community. Thus,
in every success you make, the whole community will rejoice with you because of the pride you
bring to everyone.
So, to answer my question awhile ago, one could fulfill his role as a citizen by always
thinking about the possible improvements you could help in.
