OBJECTIVES Administration of juvenile institutions , Probation Services & Welfare of street Children INSTITUTIONAL SERVICES Six Observation Homes for boys, Two Special Homes, Four Children Homes, & Two Spl Cum Children Home & Observation Home For Girls are functioning in this state. PROBATION SERVICES: District Probation Officers (25 -DPO Gr.II & 19 -DPO Gr.I), 5 Regional Inspectors of Probation are working in this state under Probation of Offenders Act 1958. WELFARE OF STREET/RUNAWAY CHILDREN The proposals of the NGOs are processed for sanction of Grant-in-aid under the scheme of Open shelters in Urban and Semi-Urban Areas under ICPS. At present 14 open shelter are functioning under the scheme in the state. JUVENILE JUSTICE BOARDS / CHILD WELFARE COMMITTEES/ INSPECTION COMMITTEE: The Government in G.O. Ms. No. 8 (JJB), 9(CWC) & 10 (IC), Dept for W,C, D,S C (JJ), Dt. 12.02.2014 constituted Juvenile Justice Boards, Child welfare Committees & Inspection Committee in all the districts in the State, to exercise the powers and to discharge the duties in relation to Juveniles in conflict with law and Children in need of care and Protection RECENT ACHIEVEMENTS 196 children were admitted in outside regular schools/colleges/residential institutions during the Academic Year 2013- 14. Two children are pursuing B.Tech 3 rd year. 45 children passed 10 th Class through open school system,. TRAINING & PLACEMENTS: The children above 14 years are trained in vocational courses like Carpentry, Plumbing, Tailoring, House-wiring, Beautician, Photography, Videography, Public Address system etc. In addition, placements are also given . Counseling services are also extended through professional Psychologists in all the homes with the support of local NGOs.
