LFW Assignment 1

The legal profession is a profession so entrenched in writing. Lawyers report the status
of their cases in writing. They draft their pleadings, motions and other documents in
courts. Contracts invariably have to be reduced in writing for the parties protection.
Even judges, arbiters, mediators and arbitrators are required to reduce their decisions in
writing. Evidently, there is so much opportunity to write in this profession.

In this exercise, I want to level expectations and ascertain for myself your individual
writing skills. Doing this is important before proceeding to Legal Forms per se because
as you perhaps know, forms merely follow substance. When we draft various legal
documents later vis--vis the many legal document patterns or templates learned, it is
important for all of you to highlight that skill of swiftly communicating in paper your ideas
with convincing clarity.

For this reason, I want you to write a public introduction of Dean Ferdinand Tan in any
legal forum you may assume. To comply with this requirement, it is important that you
do a thorough research about him. Make it interesting and at the same time faithful to
his credentials. This assignment must be completed in a page (8 x 11 bond paper)
