Project 3: Outline for Media Presentation
The purpose of the presentation is to demonstrate a practical use of interactive media that can be used
for educational purposes. My audience is aimed toward educators and students who wish to enhance
their own academic curriculum.
1) I need to decide on two sources of material that were discussed on the course that can relate to
my topic of history and current events and/or ideal education. After some review, I decided to
refer to the Gandhi readings and also the video on Venezuela.

2) I want to find a key quote to begin the video and begin assembling images, audio, and consider
which text or narration to use. I will need to hunt for images that incorporate classroom-type
settings in which technology is being used.

3) In order to create a learning experience, I need to decide upon a topic of study, and I will
incorporate the current war in Palestine into the presentation. This is an area of history and
politics in which I think Americans need to be better-informed. There seems to be a lot of
confusion about the origins of Israel and the role of the United States in that partnership.

4) To make this an interactive experience, I have decided to make use of quiz/polling software and
incorporate it into my presentation. I will have to formulate some simple questions and answers
about the topic to follow the informative section.

5) I will need to record voiceovers to present my manifesto and conclusion. I will write out some
notes in order to deliver my speech into the microphone.
The video will be presented in four parts:
1) Introduction and presentation of manifesto: The need for interactive learning tools that
incorporate multiple uses of digital media should be expressed.
2) Teach a lesson: I will present a brief history on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict with a short
animated video, which can be applicable to modern day events.
3) Interactive quiz: A demonstration of the quiz/polling ability of the software which also makes
certain facts more memorable after watching the video.
4) Conclusion: I will end with an emphasis on the ability to reproduce these types of learning tools
in order to make education more readily available.
Narration:
Hello everyone. My name is Miguel Sanford and with this presentation I would like to
demonstrate a simple method for creating interactive learning tools.
I believe that it is important for Americans to be familiar with some common historical
knowledge that continues to be relevant in the modern day. As it stands, the public school
systems in America are an unreliable source for knowledge pertaining to world history,
geography, and current events. I believe these are subject matters that are difficult to learn
through textbooks or lectures. The mainstream media has also proven to be untrustworthy,
forcing more and more people to search for knowledge through alternative networks such as
YouTube. This creates the opportunity for educators to incorporate learning tools that combine
sight, sound, and interactivity in order to improve the learning experience with these subjects. As
an example, I will now launch a short historical narrative to provide background to the current
conflict between Palestine and Israel.
This will conclude my presentation and I thank you for watching. I hope that I have effectively
demonstrated how the combination of multimedia followed by a short quiz can easily create an
interactive learning experience. For parents, this is an opportunity to educate your child from
early on, as Gandhi recommended. This is also a tool for spreading public awareness about
current events, such as the Whats going on in Venezuela video published by the Social
Interaction Academy. Again, thank you all for watching.
