Description of how to implement in the class:
The students will create a relationship chart, with the support of the teacher, which will start with the
main idea of Plants. Students will include as many facts and relationships that they can remember
about our unit on plants. This product will be part of a larger overall summative assessment on our
plants unit. What is cool about Inspiration is that, as students create their relationship chart, the
program will create an outline on the backside of the program. So, while students are creating a
pretty diagram, which is a fun learning experience for them, they are also creating an outline that
they can use to write a paper. My students will use the information they input into the program to
create a short informational paragraph, which will be added to their plant portfolio project.

Level of Technology Implementation (LoTi):
LoTi Level: 4
The technology is central to the lesson and requires students to direct the learning activity and
assume adult roles. Students are discovering and making connections, while the teacher is a guide
and co-learner, because there is no predetermined correct answer.

Indicators of Engaged Learning:
This lesson has the following Indicators of Engaged Learning: standards-based content and learning
goals, challenging content and learning goals, authentic learning tasks, student-directed learning
tasks, multi-disciplinary learning tasks, explorer student role, producer student role, collaborative
social interactions, performance-based assessment, and seamless assessment. Students achieve these
indicators by integrating their content knowledge with their technological abilities to create a
product that can be shared with their peers and be used as a tool for additional projects.
