I will provide extensive modeling and assistance in the use of personal pronouns, plural nouns, the present tense verb to like, and negating. I will provide the students with examples of my own work. I will walk students through the use of technology using the interactive whiteboard.

Description of supports:
Students will be able to work in same language partnered groupings since this will be within the first days of school. Students will be able to use translation sites to provide the English words that they need to incorporate.
Assessment and Feedback: Content Assessment: Check for the complete creation of a word cloud that introduces at least five items that they like. Items must include a course preference.
Language Assessment: Check for the use of correct pronunciation, word order, and noun/ verb forms.
Context: Welcome unit. Beginning of the year. Learners are being asked to share about one another in order to build relationships. Review and practice with English phonics and morphemes. Beginning to work with phrases in the present tense. Learning to use singular and plural noun forms.
Lesson Description: 1) Personal Introduction of myself using my word cloud along with pictures and videos. Make input comprehensible by repetition and use of visuals. 2) Mini-lesson on language objectives: The verb to like and using nouns. 3) Mini-lesson on the use of a word cloud generator/ translation tools/ and text-to-speech software. 4) Allow students to work in pairs to create their word clouds and search for matching images. 5) Partners should practice reading aloud their preferences and use the speech software. (naturalreaders.com) 6) (Time permitting) Recording of audio reading of the preferences using the word cloud as a visual prompt/ graphic organizer.
