Suggestions for Use
Mini-Posters these have been designed to help you introduce or review the O.R.E.O.
mneumonic. You can project them using your Smartboard or document camera, make
copies to post in your classroom, etc. If you do decide to print them out, it is
recommended that you print onto cardstock and laminate for durability.
Graphic Organizers - these have also been designed to be used during the pre-
planning process. Again, Ive included 2 options for differentiation.
Flipbooks these are great for literacy journals or interactive notebooks, and have
been designed to be used during the pre-planning process. For the rectangle
flipbooks, Ive included 2 different options for differentiation (one option has more
extensive cues about what should be written on each page of the flipbook). The
cookie template can be used instead of the rectangle flipbooks if youd like.
***NOTE: Ive included a variety of graphic organizers & flipbooks so youll have tools to
use all year long to reinforce the O.R.E.O. strategy through repetition. For a single lesson
or literacy center, youll probably just want to choose a single flipbook or graphic
organizer for your students to use .
