    This is going out to everyone who helped introduce resolutions on frac sand and iron mining at the Conservation Congress spring hearings. The Conservation Congress has given notice that this year's Environmental Study Committee will meet on Saturday, August 2 at 9 AM at the Elizabeth Inn,5246 Harding Avenue, Plover. The agenda for the meeting has been publishedhere. If you were listed as an author on a resolution that passed, you should receive an invitation to attend via U.S. mail within the next week or so. You do not have to be invited in order to attend.  There is a public comments segment during the meeting, with a note on the agenda that you should contact Marc Schultz at (608) 781-1662 before July 24 if you wish to speak to the committee. Even if you don't want to speak, it would be good to have many people present to show support for the resolutions. The purpose of this meeting is to decide whether each resolution was created in the proper format, and if so, to pass it along to the full Conservation Congress for consideration as a question on the statewide advisory ballot for the 2015 Spring Hearings. That sounds pretty dry, but even technicalities can become political when dealing with controversial issues like these, as we witnessed at the same meeting last year. The more the will of the public expresses itself, the better.
