The Education oundation o! "conee #ounty, $nc. has developed a program o!!ering ;ini60rants to
"conee #ounty teachers and sta!! >ho >ish to implement creative, innovative educational projects !or
>hich !unding is not availa:le through regular school sources.
;ini6grant monies may :e used to purchase materials, supplies, eBuipment, etc., necessary !or the
success!ul completion o! the project. or e,ample, a ;ini60rant could :e used to purchase science
eBuipment !or a special science e,periment, or to purchase so!t>are pac/ages !or computer applications
in any num:er o! curriculum areas, or to !und parent study s/ill programs designed to improve the
Buality o! parental involvement in their childCs home>or/.
=peciali8ed educational trips >ill :e considered only i! they are an integral part o! the proposed
project. ;ini6grant !unds may not :e used as personal honoraria !or the applicant, other teachers, or
other school personnel.

;ini60rant proposals. The grant a>ard process is designed to provide !unds !or special programs
responsive to classroom needs and to the desire to /no> and learn.
The oundation solicits proposals !rom teachers and others >ho >ish to initiate learning e,periences,
>hich reBuire up to $500.00 o! !unding !or >hich other !unding sources are not availa:le.

Any individual or group o! teachers, counselors, media specialists, resource teachers, administrators,
or educational support sta!! mem:ers 3i.e. lunchroom employees, :us drivers, etc.4 employed in any
=A#= accredited pu:lic or private school in "conee #ounty is eligi:le to apply.

Hpon approval o! a ;ini60rant proposal, the oundation >ill create a special account at the school
in the recipientCs name. The recipient >ill :e reBuired to maintain records o! all e,penditures. Hpon
completing the project, these records, along >ith the evaluation o! the project, >ill :e su:mitted to the
oundation.

EBuipment and materials purchased through the ;ini60rant *rogram >ill remain the property o! the
schools.

as long as the project continues.

scoring area !or the last - years. A!ter conducting research and loo/ing !or ans>ers, >e !ound
that our students need more technology :ased la: e,periences. 'e do hands6on :ut our !unds
are so limited that >e could cover more and have more student involvement i! >e could have
some type o! digital learning la:s !or science. 'ith a ne>er developed test :eing administered
ne,t year !or all o! 0eorgia, >e really >ould li/e to e,pose our students to as much realistic
science as possi:le.
$n addition to the content >e >ould li/e to cover, >e also are very a>are o! the role technology
