I started my on the job training at Astoria Plaza on November 26, 2013 to February 2,
2014. I was assigned in the Housekeeping and Food and Beverages department. I had my
orientation at the Housekeeping Department on her first day. On my 2
nd
day I was already
exposed in cleaning the rooms. My Room Attendant taught me the standard way of making up
the bed, it was really hard at first but as time goes by I was able to learn the right way of making
up the bed. My trainer also taught me on what to do before entering an occupied room and a
check out room.
I even experience to be a captain trainee during that time. I teach and guide those new
trainees on what to do especially when it is a check out room. Our trainer can even leave us in
the room and we can work with a minimum supervision by them.
After my training in the Housekeeping Department, I also had my training in the Food
and Beverage Department in which I experienced to set up different function rooms for different
event like birthdays, seminars, meetings, conference and many more. They even taught us on
how to set a table for 8, 10 and even 12. I even experienced to set up, serve and buzz out for the
birthday of Sen. Koko Pimentel that was held in Chardonnay in Pasig which can accommodate
for more than 400 people.
It is really a nice experienced for me and I am glad that I am able to have that kind of
experienced because that is one of a kind opportunity that I will never forget. Our training taught
us on how to be more disciplined, responsible, reliable and sociable. We were able to meet a lot
of people from different places, races and social status and from them weve learn a lot.













Reaction Paper

This is not my first time to be in Kanlungan Ni Maria but still they
touch my heart. Until now I really cant believe that some people can actually
abandoned their love ones and let other people take good care about them.
Knowing that those people took good care of them when they were still young.
Why cant they do the same thing for them now that they need someone to
take good care of them?
When you look at those elderly you can see that they were sad even
though they didnt show it their eyes say it loud. They were some who is still
strong despite the fact that their already old. And theres one elder that really
got my attention. Her name is nanay Pina. Nanay Pina makes our stay an
enjoyable and memorable one. She recite a poetry, cracked some jokes, and
she even sing and dance. Its just really sad that we have to leave early but its
all good as we really enjoy our outreach program in Kanlungan Ni Maria.
