Introductory Activity: The Key to Understanding Others


Directions: Answer yes, no, maybe, or never to the following questions. Be prepared to
explain your reasoning when the class switches to four (opinion) corners.

Morals: The personal distinction you make in your own life between right and
wrong.

Research Prompt and Instructions
In order to better understand the Era of Anne Frank, the class will get into three
groups: Germans, European Citizens, and Jews. These different groups each have the
the same end task:
Task: After researching articles, journals, and video documentaries on the Holocaust, World
War II, and the story of Anne Frank , write a one to three page informational essay that
describes what life would be like morally and philosophically during the time Anne Frank
lived for Germans, Jews, and European citizens. Support your discussion with evidence from
your research.
